Pedro Torres is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Palmer Trinity. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels the baseball and worked through exchange with developing fluidity. Flashed solid arm strength that produced good carry to the bag, topped at 84 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a balanced, even stance and reaching front side trigger. Created some lower half shift into contact. Deeper hand load and worked to contact on a loose path. Utilized a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent and looked to lift the baseball to the middle of the field between the gaps. Displayed occasional bat speed with strength when on time and squared. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. High leg lift and stays balanced at gather. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum to target. Released from a low three-quarters arm slot producing occasional run to arm side with a fastball that topped at 79 miles per hour. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with tight spin and solid depth. Maintained arm speed with a changeup offering that created good deception to hitters as well. Excellent student.
