2016 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Caleb Munton is a 2019 C/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Abilene, TX who attends Wylie HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and nice present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.36 60yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front with soft hands, gains ground nicely coming out of the crouch, sound fundamentals and does a nice job of repeating them, shows accuracy and carry out of the hand when on top of the ball. Switch-hitter, similar stance and swing from both sides of the plate. Lefthanded, begins with a balanced and even stance with a leg lift trigger for timing. Pulls hands back at start of swing, stays inside the ball and swings with intent while showing extension out front at point of contact. Same set up from the right side, works up to the ball at times and looks to lift, shows nice strength coming off the barrel when squared with carry off the barrel to the pull side. Excellent student.
