Billy Compton is a 2018 C with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Commerce Township, MI who attends Detroit Catholic Central HS. Large frame with strong present build; still quality projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.83 seconds. Sets up to hit from spread out, even-based stance with leg lift trigger. Hands set low to start, gets on naturally lofted swing plane early. Loose hands through swing. Showed solid jump off the barrel with a mid-to-pull approach, good balance throughout swing. Worked out defensively behind the plate, side-set coming forward into two-hand reception, gains ground well forward and shows solid arm strength, threw 77 MPH down to 2nd base and popped as low as 2.04 seconds when accurate. Good student.
