JD Hay is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B, IF, OF with a 6-1 178 lb. frame from Saint Augustine, FL who attends The Bolles School. Recorded a 7.01 second 60-yard dash time. Long limbs with room to project and fill out. Primary shortstop who fields with two hands out in front and a short, clean arm stroke. Waits on the ball and the arm plays well with throws recorded up to 88 mph across the diamond. Arm strength also plays from secondary position of the outfield. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a quick and high leg lift and a full arm swing. Some effort at release and shows 10/4 breaking ball. Tunnels three pitches well and gets good fading action on the changeup. Right-handed hitter with a wide base, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Good bat speed with extension out in front and has a tight turn over the inside. Middle of the field contact with some carry and has solid offensive tools. Tremendous student.
