Jake Neely is a 2024 RHP/3B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Clark. Athletic build with a strong lower half. Simple turn and throw mechanics with a short stride out front and a straight over the top arm slot, stays on line well, fast arm with a high energy release. Fastball worked at 94-96 mph early with big 20"+ vertical life, settled down to more 91-93 later, developing consistency with his vertical fastball command due to the over the top release, works best to the arm side. Tends to shorten his arm stroke on his curveball, gets on top of the pitch well with some vertical depth and lands it well for strikes. Big arm speed and arm strength with plenty of avenues to continue to develop. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Arizona State.
