Jayzic Matos is a 2026 C/RHP/MIF with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Henderson, NV who attends Coronado. Compact shorter build with some present strength. Right handed hitter, has a medium sized leg raise and stride into contact, long and extended upper body driven rotational swing, has some jump off the barrel when he's timed and out front, tends to hit under the ball, flashed some juice and ability to drive the ball. Primary catcher on defense, comes out of his crouch well and has some lower body quickness, compact and quick exchange and arm action, gains ground into his throws. Also worked out in the infield, showed good lateral range, same type of compact actions and quick release that he showed behind the plate, has some skills as a second base type. Took a turn on the mound, works from a closed stretch start with a fast paced move to the plate, lands closed out front and throws cross body with a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 75 mph. Good student.
