Mason Barrett is a 2021 1B/RHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Green Cove Springs, FL who attends Clay HS. Large frame with present strength in build. Ran an 8.37 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary first baseman. Fields out front with deeper funnel to the body. Decisive footwork working around the bag. Releases from a three-quarter slot with softer carry across the diamond topping out at 71 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with an upright stance. Slightly downward path to contact creating line drive contact. Works to the pull side almost exclusively. Secondary righthanded pitcher. Slow and deliberate pace to delivery. Creates some plane on the fastball with occasional sharp sinking actions topping out at 78 miles per hour. Mixes in a curveball with developing feel and occasional depth. Excellent student as well.
