2021 Florida Top Prospect Games
Mark Alvelo is a 2023 SS/2B, 3B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Saint Johns, FL who attends St. Joseph Academy. Recorded a 7.46 60-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a medium athletic build and broad shoulders. Worked with active feet and took good angles to the ball. Showed fluid hands and glove. Employed a quick transfer and solid arm strength. Reached up to 81 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter and starts from a narrow base with a high back elbow and hands. Hands work well throughout the swing as he showed excellent bat-to-ball skills. Bat and hand speed stand out. Path is more level through the zone before finishing uphill. Really consistent round and repeated swing mechanics well. Skills that will play in game offensively and defensively. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
