Robert Paxton is a 2021 RHP/3B/SS with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Bushnell, FL who attends South Sumter HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary righthanded pitcher, works with an on line delivery down the mound and can continue to incorporate additional lower half into drive. Repeats well and works to a three-quarters release point with extension out front which helps keeps the ball down in the zone. Fastball shows short sinking life and topped out at 76 mph, can works glove side and able to induce weak contact off the barrel. Pitched off fastball mostly but mixed in a 10-4 shaped slider with short depth providing a different look. Threw from a lower slot across the infielder, fields the ball out front with a wide base and hands that play well, upright release, accurate throws across diamond and showed short steps on the charge. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Upper body dominant swing, shows a short path through the zone and utilizes a contact approach at the plate. Keeps hands inside and able to generate extension out front, best contact to middle of the field with line drives showing carry off the barrel. Very good student.
