Ryan Wells is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Rockvale, TN who attends Eagleville HS. Athletic build with some present strength and plenty of room for more. 7.35 runner, works through the ball well on defense with quick feet and athletic actions, soft hands at the ball with a clean funnel and exchange, has nice carry on his throws with good accuracy set up by his sound footwork. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight bent knee stance, low hand start, has a well timed shift into contact and a short, quick swing, middle of the field line drive approach, will continue to improve as a hitter with additional strength. Also pitched and has two-way potential. Quick compact arm action on the mound from a high 3/4's arm slot, lands a bit closed for a cross fire angle to the plate. Steady mid-80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, has some heaviness and sink on the pitch. Gets over his curveball well and generates tight spin with good power and 11/5 bite. Excellent student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
