Johnny Oates is a 2021 C/3B, UT with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Chester, VA who attends Thomas Dale HS. Recorded a 7.45 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with some wiry strength present and room for additional physicality. Primary catcher who falls off to the side. Deliberate actions with arm strength recorded up to 71 mph. Fluidity to motion and will improve with a quicker release. Secondary infielder with a shorter arm action and accuracy across. Closed stride with quickness to release and throws recorded up to 75 mph across the diamond. Righthanded hitter with a slightly open stance, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Deeper hand load with a level swing plane. Upper half dominant swing and will improve with additional lower half incorporation. Excellent student.
