Charles Messina is a 2026 C/1B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Cortez, FL who attends IMG Academy. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, starts with one knee down in drills, shows nice flexibility and hip mobility in actions, stays low and maintains excellent direction into release, some length to arm action but gets it out quick and shows solid arm strength and carry down to second base. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a small stride forward moving into contact. Pre-pitch movement to hands in load but maintains rhythm, looks to lift and impact at the point of contact. Shows strength to the alleys and found a couple loud barrels in live action for extra-base hits including a 94 EV on a double off the left field wall. Physical strength plays well in swing when squared up, solid bat speed through zone. Excellent student.
