Primary shortstop who showed softer hands during his round, adjusting slots as needed, throwing 80 mph across the diamond. He had some snatch to the hands, including a good backhand pick. Good lateral footwork with a clean funnel into release. Put together a clean round defensively with carry across on his throws. A right-handed hitter with open feet, higher-set hands, a high back elbow, and an inward stride. He uses a hovering leg lift before striding into contact. His fastball had some arm-side run to it, working up to 85 mph with some angle to it, especially when working in the lower half of the zone. The curveball had good 11/5 shape to it. He was able to land the breaker for strikes and induce whiffs on the pitch. Later in the outing, he showed a diving changeup with a good tumbling shape to it into the low- to mid-70s. He threw 3.0 innings, allowing 1 hit, striking out 4 opposing hitters. Great student.
