Filippo Baratta is a 2025 OF/2B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Mokena, IL, who attends Lincolnway Central. A taller and leaner frame with athleticism showing throughout. Higher-set waist with room to keep filling out moving forward. Ran a 6.75 60-yard dash. A primary outfielder who worked low to the ground on his approach with confidence in his actions. He fields the ball out front but closer to his body near the front foot. He works into a longer arm action with one-hop accuracy to home, good flight & carry on his throws. Showed some arm strength with throws at 82 mph from the outfield. A right-handed hitter with an upright stance and athletic look in the batters' box. Sets up with hands tighter to the body and a lower handset. He gets the weight on the back leg and rotates hard through contact, often working back up the middle on his swings. Stayed slightly uphill through the zone with some smoothness to his stroke. Produced an 82 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Hit well in-game as well, with a pull-side knock. Great student. Named to the 2023 Chicago Indoor Showcase TP List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
