Hector Garcia is a 2021 C/1B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Miramar, FL who attends Mater Academy Lakes. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary catcher with a lower, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch with loose lower half actions. Clean glove circle at exchange and released from a compact three-quarters slot. Throws produced on line carry to the bag topping at 76 mph, best workout pop time of 1.98. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple front side trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Clean hand path to baseball with a linear barrel plane through extension. Flashed solid strength at contact with the ability to generate tight back spin off the barrel when squared. Primarily looked to attack the baseball with intent while employing a gap to gap approach.
