Blake Caron is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from Fallbrook, CA who attends Fallbrook. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary left handed pitcher with a smooth paced rock step delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Tends to land at a slightly closed front side but carries momentum to plate well. Released from a three-quarters arm slot producing some run to arm side with a fastball that topped at 65 miles per hour. Changed speed with a short slider that had some tilt to glove side in the upper 50's. Consistently filled the strike zone and looked to attack the bottom quadrants of the plate. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth action while closing to the baseball. Clean glove through pick up and exchange. Generated good momentum to the bag while releasing from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced softer, accurate carry to the bag topping at 68 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high back elbow set. Created some shift into contact with linear actions. Inside hand path to contact with a level barrel plane through extension. Stayed behind the baseball well at contact and generated good extension out front. Flashed good fluidity through finish with the ability to manipulate the barrel and work to all fields. Good student as well.
