Jan Gonzalez is a 2021 1B/LHP with a 5-11 141 lb. frame from North Bergen, NJ who attends Bergen Catholic. Medium build with plenty of room to fill and time to fill out physically. Ran a 5.40 40 yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields ball out in front in a higher fielding position, bounces off the bag well, release tends to be slower, short arm action into throws with developing arm strength. Also pitched, lefthanded pitcher, crossfire delivery, begins windup with a simple side step to a high leg lift, clean arm action up to a high 3/4 slot, could work on driving off back leg more for added velocity, lands closed, should develop an offspeed pitch for added effectiveness. Lefthanded hitter, even stance with a high hand set and a high back elbow, looks to hit the ball out front, fuller path, hands get a bit stiff at times, best when wrists are loose and hitting ball out in front.
