Reese Wade is a 2007 LHP/1B OF with a 5'11'', 200 lb. frame from Dallas TX, who attends Episcopal School of Dallas. He has a good frame and very good present strength. Wade has a multi-part delivery and his arm sometimes gets out of sync with his body. His arm does have some looseness. Wade's fastball was 76-80 with some running action. His curveball was 66 mph and had good spin at times. Wade pushes his 69 mph change up a bit but it has good sinking life at the plate. Wade might project better as an outfielder than as a pitcher. He has very good bat speed at the plate and shows pull power. He has a confident approach in the box and had a very high percentage of hard line drive hits. Wade's strength is part of his projection at the plate, he also has that attitude swinging the bat that good hitters have. Wade played both first base and in the outfield and he showed advanced defensive actions in the outfield with a strong throwing arm. Keep an eye on him both ways but don't forget his hitting. Wade is a good student.
