Giovanni Colasante is a 2022 SS/RHP with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends Poly Prep Country Day. Outstanding athletic build with length and present strength. 6.59 runner in the sixty. Highest level defensive actions in the middle infield on defense, is very light on his feet for his size, rounds the ball well with good footwork, big-time arm strength across the field. Right handed hitter, hits from a balanced stance with a high hand load, loose hands with a line drive swing plane, creates bat speed with little effort, will hit to all fields, still developing consistency but all the elements are there. Also pitched, has a quick and compact arm action from a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 91 mph to go with a slider and change up. Defense and athleticism really stand out, one of the more projectable players in the 2022 class. Elite level student with a verbal commitment to Harvard.
