Mason Middleton is a 2024 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from King, NC who attends Reagan. Thick, well muscled build with a durable frame and athletic actions overall. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.39 seconds. Primary position RHP, using the full windup from the 1B side of the rubber. Small step in front of rubber to a tall and inwardly turned balance point before working in a good line down the slope. Stationary hands at the belly with a deep offline arm path and accelerates through a low-3/4 arm action. Quick arm and he turns easy in the core to generate plus stuff across the board. Fastball up to 92 mph with heavy riding action and advanced spin in the 2,500+ range. Hard slider/cutter in the low-80s with late small break that plays off the heater. Drops vertical CB in for strikes often with tight 2,100+ spin. Feel for the change up as well with good deception and arm side run. Profiles as an impact arm immediately at the next level and should be a front of the rotation arm as his career progresses. Secondary 1B that showed good feel for the leather and was comfortable around the bag. Light on his feet and made all the plays and feeds with ease. RHH working from an even stance as he works his hands from high to low before getting on plane. Real strength at impact and gets significant bat tilt pre-pitch that cost him some timing here and there. Plenty of juice and pull side pop. Appalachian State commit who is an outstanding student as well.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
