Brian Walsh is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Scranton, PA who attends Scranton Preparatory. Recorded a 7.38-second sixty-yard time. Large, compact frame with present strength in his lower half. Right-handed pitcher, athletic operation that he repeats well, creating downhill plane with his fastball. Loose, whippy arm from an over-the-top slot with good extension to the plate. Filled the zone with his heater, working it on both sides of the plate, up to 83 mph. Showed promising breaking ball that was able to generate weak contact when he got on top of it. Flashed swing-and-miss projection with some refinement of arsenal. Secondary outfielder, remains on line towards his target with throws up to 82 mph. Tended to wait back on the ball with developing defensive skill set. Left-handed hitter, even stance with a high-hand set. Quick, compact stroke, flashing to juice to the pull side. Impacted the ball well when he was on time. Incorporates his lower half, generating power from his legs. Excellent student. Named to 2021 Fall East Coast Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
