Zach Jones is a 2021 RHP/3B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Hillsborough, NC who attends Voyager Academy. Medium frame with slender, highly-projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.06 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, offline arm stroke through the back with significant wrap, good arm speed coming through, fastball worked 80-84 mph with excellent life to the arm side as well as sink, mixed in slider with slurvy break for strikes, also flashed a changeup. Solid upside on the mound. Hits from spread out stance, hands more stationary in load, hits off of backside, shows solid bat speed along with strength to pull side. Worked out in the infield, backs up on the ball, hands work when out front, several step pattern into release, clocked up to 80 mph. Also threw from the outfield and got up to 85 mph. Very good student, named to 2019 Atlantic Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
