Cayden Smith is a 2020 3B/RHP with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Mansfield, TX who attends The Oakridge. Large frame with athletic, strong build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.27 seconds. Hits from upright, slightly open stance, low leg lift to trigger, loads hands back, has impressive bat speed and strength, can impact the ball and drive it to all fields, ball jumps when square, loud performance over the weekend. Worked out in the infield, two-hand shallow funnel out front, compact arm stroke on throws, clocked up to 74 mph. Also pitched, lengthy initiation to arm stroke, gets offline then shortens, hides the ball well, high three quarters slot, generates plane to the plate, fastball worked 72-75 mph, also flashed a curveball.
