Matteo Martinez is a 2020 C/3B/RHP with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Pearland, TX who attends Pearland Dawson HS. Medium frame with solid strength to build at present, projects as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.11 seconds. Sets up to hit from balanced stance with low hand set, line drive swing plane with good intent through stroke, has strength when barrel gets out front, shows solid ability to drive the ball to the pull side. Worked out behind the plate, deliberate actions, fundamentals are solid and smooth, multi-piece arm action, throws to second clocked up to 71 mph. Also pitched, long and rigid arm stroke, worked exclusively from the stretch, fastball worked 73-77 mph with some arm side life, showed curveball for strikes, found better command once he lengthened his stride a bit.
