Brandon Chapman is a 2020 C/3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Norwalk, IA who attends Lincoln HS. Medium, athletic body with ability to fill out. Primary catcher. Starts with a narrow side straddled stance with weight on toes. Clean glove circle on transfer with a low exchange. Gains ground with a short step out front. Throws have some carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with an upright and open stance. Uses a simple leg lift trigger. Gets some hand wrap and bottom half rotation during load keeping weight back. Rotational lower half to contact. Has a loose bat path into a line drive swing plane. Looks to keep the ball in the middle of the field to the pull side but can keep hands back and go the other way on occasion. Present strength especially when making solid contact. Good student as well.
