2023 Miami Prospect Showcase
Patrick Niehus is a 2024 3B/1B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Falls Church, VA who attends IMG Academy. Extra physical build with outstanding present strength. Right handed hitter, loads hard to his back side from a spread base but works out to his front side well, swings with intent with some controlled violence, explosive hands at contact, short to the ball and long to it, creates back spin, all the tools to hit at the next level and to continue improving. 7.25 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, has the athleticism to make plays on the move and stay at third base, good idea on his footwork and has some first step quickness, arm strength is a big tool with big carry across the diamond. Will be interesting to follow at the college level. Good student, signed with Gardner Webb. Named to the Miami Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
