2021 South Prospect Showcase
Michael Hampton is a 2022 3B/RHP/UT with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Memorial. Long and lean athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. Two-way prospect. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a wrapped barrel load, long and loose swing with a high finish and good extension, gets some jump off the barrel, consistent timing. 7.24 runner in the sixty. Showed good athletic actions moving side to side at third base, good carry across the diamond on his throws. High elbow takeaway on the mound, tight 3/4's arm slot, has some energy at release. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with nice hard sinking life, primary fastball pitcher. Difficult arm action to throw a breaking ball from, tends to lower his slot on his slider. Has the tools and arm speed to improve on the mound with adjustments. Good student. Named to the South Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
