2005 Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase
Casey Keenan is a 2005 OF/LHP from Ann Arbor, Michigan, with a 6'0", 180 lb. frame. He plays on the same team as AFLAC All-American Zach Putnam and one of the top catching prospects at the Indoor Showcase, junior Derek Mosher, is also a teammate. That must be one tough high school team. Keenan is a strong and tightly wound athlete with a high waist. He has a high effort, straight up delivery with some cross fire action that makes it difficult for the hitter to pick up the ball. However, Keenan did a good job of maintaining consistency in his mechanics and release point, and had no problem throwing strikes. His fastball was steady in the low 80’s and topped out at 86 mph, good velocity for a southpaw. Keenan’s 74 mph change up had excellent diving action at times. His 67-70 mph curveball had a big, sweeping 2 plane break that had the hitters off balance. Keenan had a confident, aggressive approach on the mound and didn’t look like he’d be much fun to hit off of, especially for a left handed hitter. Could be a very good DI college lefty.
