Noah Pena is a 2022 C/SS, UT with a 5-6 125 lb. frame from Waco, TX who attends Bosqueville. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a higher waist; lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.94 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front, gets low with set up behind plate, shows an idea and feel for overall actions behind the dish and projects well, quick transfer out of the glove, some effort at release, arm strength will continue to develop. Takes long strides moving towards the ball in the infield and gathers well behind the ball and while working through it, gets through backhand well, extra step through release, accurate across with nice tools to build off of. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide, bent knee stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Contact oriented approach in the box with a full swing path, creates occasional leverage out front. Multi-piece load and occasionally gets mistimed, swung the bat well in game and showed ability to go with outer half pitch to opposite field, projects with strength.
