Daniel O'Dell is a 2008 3B/P with a 5'10'', 175 lb. frame from Graham WA, who attends Graham-Kapowsin HS. He has a compact, stocky build. O'Dell performed well in this event, both on the mound and at the plate, standing out more as a pitcher. In three innings he punched out six hitters and consistently challenged them with his mid-80s fastball (T86). His arm stroke is long and pretty loose and easy. He knows how to pitch, and also holds runners well. O'Dell's fastball has some run and he kept it down. His curveball (71 mph) is good, with downer action. He has good control of that pitch, starting it in the zone which can starts bats. He also showed a slider (maybe a cutter). Offensively he showed good hands and stayed inside the ball. His swing is direct to contact and he keeps the barrel in the zone, driving through contact, with some gap pop. O'Dell has some bat speed to. His skill level and raw ability is good.
