James Mahoney is a 2022 3B/RHP with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Andover, MA who attends Austin Preparatory. Long and lean frame with good physical projection. Ran a 7.34 second 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, waits back on the ball a bit but fields it confidently with two hands out front with strong transfers and strong accurate throws clocked up to 84 mph across. Also pitches, has a balanced delivery with good pace to how he works, shows good arm speed with some looseness to the arm stroke through a three-quarters slot generating good sink to the fastball and showing comfortability with a sharp curveball. Right-handed hitter, has some explosiveness and intent to his swing on an uphill swing path showing good impact strength when he squared the ball out front. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
