Matthew Mueller is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-5 190 lb. frame from Brookfield, WI who attends Brookfield Central. Extra-large, projectable build with long limbs and square shoulders, has room to fill throughout and develop physically moving forward. Left-handed pitcher, side step moving into a higher leg lift up past belt, slight hip turn at top and tall on backside, shorter stride coming down the mound while utilizing a full arm stroke through the backside working out to an extended three-quarters release point. Creates big angle on the fastball given his release and size, fastball topped out at 87 mph, shows the ability to miss bats within the strike zone, projects well moving forward with added refinement. Tends to slow on release of breaking ball, short shape to the pitch through the zone up to 70 mph. Showed a quality pickoff move to first base. Good student. Verbal commitment to Gonzaga.
