Matthew Boughton is a 2025 SS/2B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Colleyville, TX who attends Covenant Christian Academy. Slender athletic build with some wiry strength and more to come. 6.43 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has rhythm and smoothness to his actions and footwork, outstanding range, soft and quick hands, solid arm strength, plays confidently and under control. Right handed hitter, starts from a balanced straight stance, has fast hands and gets the barrel through quickly, has some lift in his swing for future power, is going to have serious bat speed if he can continue to get stronger. Very projectable in all areas. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Texas A&M.
