Moises Esparza is a 2020 C/3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Fort Worth, TX who attends V R Eaton. Medium athletic build with room to continue to fill. Primary catcher, has carry to his throws down to second base. Doesn't cheat, posting a fantastic 1.90 pop time. Low base and quick hands translate well behind the dish with crisp glove work and overall athletic actions. Shows soft hands from the infield. Plays below the ball well and possesses a quick transfer from his backhand side. Some raw arm strength across the diamond as well that clocked in at 80 mph. At the plate, keeps weight on his backside with a narrow stance to start. Hands are short to the baseball, free and easy swing that flashes solid leverage at times. Middle to pull approach gets the head out on inside pitches. Still developing coil between his upper and lower half but is still quick enough to fire the barrel through on time.
