John Holtz IV is a 2023 C/RHP with a 6-2 197 lb. frame from Novato, CA who attends San Marin. Strong, athletic build with good amounts of defined muscle in the body from top-to-bottom. Ran a 7.72 in the 60-yard dash. Catcher, gains momentum well with good throws on a line. Quicker pop time and fluid hips behind the dish. Right-handed pitcher, hands start high and drope to waist and work into a mid three-quarter delivery. Fastball reached 80 mph with late life. Curveball has lots to like going forward with 12-6 shape and hard break. Good tempo and throws quality strikes on the mound. Right-handed hitter, wider base and small leg load. Works the barrel head out front with pull-side strength at impact. Present bat speed with heavy hands that pack strength, produced a solid round that showed up in games. Promising two-way. Good student.
