Justin Iglesias is a 2024 1B/RHP with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Castro Valley, CA who attends Bishop O Dowd. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders rand long limbs, lean build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front with some bend at the waist, accurate throws across the diamond, overall footwork will continue to develop away from the bag. Also pitched, side step moving into a higher leg lift, direct to the plate with delivery and works to an over-the-top release point while getting over front side. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, maintained velocity out of the stretch, filled the strike zone with a full mix and works quickly. Left-handed hitter, begins with a narrow and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, subtle load with a small stride moving into swing. Direct path to the ball and shows a handle for the barrel with present bat speed through the zone. Short finish through point of contact, comfort elevating to pull side and shows jump off of the barrel when squared. Excellent student. Named to NorCal Workout Top Prospect List.
