Van Sidebotham is a 2023 SS/3B with a 5-6 140 lb. frame from Newport Coast, CA who attends Corona Del Mar. Medium, square shouldered build with strength to frame, young look with additional room and develop physically moving forward. Ran an 8.64 60-yard dash. Primary infielder, fields the ball out front with two hands and some bend at the waist, hands play at the ball, funnels into a shorter arm stroke through the backside, around the first base bag with arm strength and carry that will continue to develop. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and a lower back elbow at the plate; utilizes a small stride moving into contact. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball with a linear path through the zone and repeats mechanics well. Creates some separation and shows a feel for the barrel in the box with line drive contact to all fields, creates extension out front and showed comfort pulling the ball.
