Kyle McSorley is a 2023 C/RHP/1B with a 6-4 223 lb. frame from Old Bridge, NJ who attends Old Bridge. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and well-proportioned strength throughout. Recorded a 5.14 second forty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that received from a wider, slightly side-saddle stance with soft hands and athletic footwork out of the crouch. Gains ground towards his target, stays compact with his movements and exhibits a direct mid-line transfer to get into release. Displayed mobility by switching to a one-knee receiving stance midway through drills and produced tons of present arm strength from both positions. Produced accurate throws up to 84 mph from behind the dish during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with deliberate pace and segmented movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the mid-80s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 87 mph from a three-quarters arm slot. Max-effort delivery with some tempo, timing issues but showcased legitimate arm strength and throws strikes. Flashed a pair of developing secondary offerings with an 11-5 shaped curveball with gradual depth and slightly faded changeup that he tends to slow down his arm on. Will continue to improve with minor refinements mechanically and should continue to add velocity. Left-handed hitter that hits from a spread stance with a lower, tight hand set and low back elbow. Generates good hip torque with rotational weight shift into launch. Intent based swing with lightning quick hands, tons of strength at impact and loads of present bat speed. Middle-of-the field approach with good feel for the barrel and legitimate usable power to the pullside. Athletic, physically imposing prospect with huge arm strength behind the plate and prodigious power potential moving forward, will continue to improve with minor adjustments mechanically on both sides of the ball. Verbal commitment to Iona University. Named to the 2023 Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
