Abdiel Mael Texeira is a 2023 C/1B with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Juana Diaz, PR who attends Reborn Christian Academy. Smaller build with lots of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open narrow stance with a small leg lift trigger, drives his lower half into contact well, pretty simple swing that was consistently on time, some ability to turn the barrel over and show strength at contact. Primary catcher on defense, has good quickness in his lower half, moves his feet well and gains ground on his throws, nice exchange and makes accurate throws. Good student.
