Axel Melendez Jr is a 2020 MIF/RHP with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Cidra, PR who attends Puerto Rico BB Academy. Shorter build with good present strength. 6.77 runner, has a quick first step on defense and plays on his toes, plays below and behind the ball well, good glove and fields out front with a quick exchange. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a good weight shift into contact, short line drive swing, solid fundamentals and balance, line drives to all fields. Also pitched, fast paced aggressive delivery, low 80's fastball, topped out at 83 mph and throws strikes with both his fastball and curveball. Likes to play and compete. Good student.
