Shane Wetherington is a 2023 3B/2B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Duanesburg, NY who attends Duanesburg. Recorded a 7.66 second sixty-yard dash time. Larger, well-proportioned frame with square shoulders and plenty of room to fill out. Primary infielder with a developing defensive skill set; incorporates anticipatory actions into the fielding process, deeper funnel out in front with slight waist bend to field. Exhibits quick transfers with slight uphill movements into release, recorded arm strength up to 75 mph across during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, open stance with a medium height hand set, low back elbow and small hover trigger. Upper-body driven swing with subtle weight shift into contact, elongated flatter swing plane and developing bat-to-ball skills. Mostly pull-side contact with some line drive impact when on-time and squared. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and maturity. Young, developing prospect with projectable frame and plenty of upside remaining. Will continue to improve with additional strength and refinements to his skill set. Good Student.
