Ricky Freeman is a 2022 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Uniontown, OH who attends Hoover. Large frame with some strength present, broad shoulders. Ran an 8.35 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins his delivery with a big rocker step up to a high leg lift, arm is taken back to a compact arm action up to a high ¾ arm slot, stays online with his delivery while releasing with a short extended finish out in front, releases with intent. Fastball is straight and topped out at 77 mph, mixed in a curveball with short depth and 11-to-5 shape, best command came when repeating his mechanics and releasing the baseball out in front, will continue to improve with additional reps on the bump. Secondary first baseman, low effort actions with a long arm action into throws, young footwork around the bag and on double play turns to second base. Also took reps in the infield, similar actions as at first base with longer strides to the baseball laterally, shuffles into his release with developing arm strength, topped out at 73 mph across the infield. Righthanded hitter, sets up with an open stance, stays open into stride into contact and will improve barrel skills when closing off to the point of contact, low effort stroke flashing barrel ability, middle of the field approach.
