Max Jones is a 2020 SS/RHP/C with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Pekin, IL who attends Pekin Community HS. Medium frame with some strength present especially in lower half. Ran a 7.40 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves through the baseball with developing footwork, flashed a quick release when need coming from a sidearm release, average arm strength across the diamond that topped out at 76 mph. Secondary righthanded pitcher, starts windup with a side step up to a high leg lift, takes arm back to a full arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, utilizes his lower half driving down the mound, fastball topped out at 80 mph flashing sink at times, mixed in a pair of breaking balls with feel to spin each. Righthanded hitter, sets up with an upright stance, starts swing with a big leg kick trigger, compact swing flashing quick hands to the baseball, works the baseball to a fields, will improve pop off of the barrel with proper implementation of a weight shift into contact. Outstanding student.
