Kalym Espaillat is a 2022 C/1B with a 5-10 220 lb. frame from Boston, MA who attends Snowden International. Medium frame with broad shoulders and beginnings of strength. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground while working out of crouch with smooth paced footwork. Quick, compact exchanges and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced some on line carry to the bag topping at 77 mph, best workout pop time of 2.09. Right handed hitter with a spread, balanced stance and high back elbow set. Compact hand path to contact with a linear barrel plane through extension. Stays balanced throughout swing and displayed good feel for the barrel. Consistently repeated path and plane while utilizing a mid field approach.
