Pearse Mullinax is a 2023 OF/C, 3B with a 5-11 166 lb. frame from Cartersville, GA who attends Cartersville. Features a medium build with some athleticism within. Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder. Flashed a quick arm during defensive drills, utilizing a short arm action and tall release. Generated fairly accurate throws often. More arm strength should come as mechanics develop further. Fields the ball out front. Will wait back at times. Utilizes an even stance with feet squared and hands high in the box. Has a short swing with feel for the barrel. Flashed some bat speed with the intent to do damage. Gets the bat head out front and generates natural loft within. Helps create solid power to the pullside. Athleticism translates to the mound. Threw exclusively out of the stretch. Uses a short arm action with a low, extended slot. High effort throughout delivery slightly hinders ability to repeat. The fastball sat in the upper-70’s and topped out at 81 mph. Occasionally will lower slot and generate sinking action. Control is still being developed. Paired with a curveball at 63-68 mph and changeup in the low-70’s. Breaking ball showed more depth as outing went on. Good student.
