James McGlumphy is a 2021 RHP/UT with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Round Rock, TX who attends Round Rock. Solid athletic build with some present strength and room for more. Works from the stretch with a compact arm action that hides the ball well, very sound fundamental delivery with good direction and balance that he repeats well, medium effort at release, tunnels his pitches well. Fastball worked up to 85 mph, gets nice running action on the pitch and the velocity plays up due to his arm action. Showed good tightness on a 70 mph curveball, 11/5 shape with depth and shape, tightened up his curveball a few times for a harder slider look, rare change up is still developing. Fielded his position very well and showed his athleticism. Very good student. Named to the South Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
