Tavy Joel (TJ) Walker is a 2021 1B/MIF with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Ooltewah, TN who attends Grace Baptist Academy. Medium frame with longer limbs and a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary first baseman with clean footwork while working to and centering the baseball. Flashed solid glove actions while funneling out front and worked through exchange efficiently. Showed good range while coming off the bag with the ability to created accurate throws to each bag, topped at 71 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing similar clean, smooth paced footwork while working to the baseball. Funnels from a slightly deeper position and worked through exchange with a loose arm circle. Primarily released from a three-quarters arm slot but flashed the ability to change slot while on the run, topped at 75 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Stays balanced and works to contact with some linear lower half actions. Compact hand path to baseball with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Displayed developing feel for the barrel through the zone while employing a mid field to opposite field approach. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition.
