David Rodriguez is a 2024 RHP/3B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Trevose, PA who attends Father Judge. Large, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, some drop and drive mechanics in lower half, long arm action through the backside, quick arm stroke working into release. Creates angle with the fastball and throws slightly across body, fastball jumps out of hand and topped out at 87 mph, showed the ability to challenge hitters up in the zone and miss bats. Attacked hitters and filled the strike zone, showed ability to add and subtract from breaking ball, up to 74 mph with 11-5 shape and late downer action when on time with release. Full arm action on throws across diamond in the infield, active moving to and working through the ball with footwork, fields it out front, shows softness to hands, actions play at third base. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Short swing through the zone, shows strength in hands and swings with intent. Coils onto backside in load, mostly pull contact, showed hard jump off of the barrel when squared and flashed lift to the middle of the field. Very good student. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List.
