Mitchell Kahlenberg is a 2022 RHP with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Waxhaw, NC who attends Cuthbertson. Long and slender young build. Side step delivery with a big leg raise and an extended 3/4's arm slot, big stride out to the plate with lots of extension out front on his release. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 83 mph, big running action at times down in the zone, can straighten out when up over the plate. Slider was his best pitch this outing, lands it well with good depth and shape and got some bad swings on the pitch. Firm change up with occasional big running action as well. Has an idea how to pitch and kept gaining confidence and quality throughout his outing. Very good chance to take the next step with his raw stuff with additional strength and physical maturity. Excellent student.
