Luis Perez is a 2007 C with a 5'8'', 190 lb. frame from Dublin OH, who attends Dublin Coffman. Perez has a shorter body with a thick stocky build. He has good body strength with a nice catchers build. Defensively, Perez sets up well behind the plate and forces his pitchers to work the corners of the plate. He is a good receiver with nice hands. Perez has arm strength with carry on his throws down to second base. At the plate, Perez starts with a medium width base and uses a toe tap trigger to start his swing. He has a good load and has some bat wrap at load. Perez looks to keep his hands inside the baseball and has quick hands to the ball. He has bat speed with present gap to gap pop. Perez has some lift to his swing and makes consistent solid contact. He has a smooth stroke and maintains good balance throughout.
